Jeremy Ellul  B.Sc.(Hons.) Physiotherapy, S.R.P., P.Q.Dip. Nutr.& Diet.

Jeremy qualified from the University of Malta as a physiotherapist in 1998.  Since then he has worked in private practice both in the clinic, in hydrotherapy as well as in sports.  He has a special interest in musculoskeletal conditions, which include postural problems, biomechanics, and sports injuries.  In 2007 Jeremy completed a postqualification diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Malta.  With Malta being in the top European obesity rankings, he felt it would complement his profession perfectly.  He is registered with the Council of Professions Supplementary to Medicine and holds a Physiotherapy Licence to Practice.

No matter how  minor a problem may seem or how severe it may be, the approach taken is in three simple steps:

Step 1: Assessment of the individual taking into consideration the history of the injury, medical history and daily activities.  This allows the practitioner to determine the cause of the problem and explain it in simple terms, rather than just treat the symptoms.   A one size fits all approach does not exist.

Step 2: Treatment.  If treatment will be indicated an appropriate treatment plan will be devised and discussed.  Treatment may be in various forms such as manual therapy, exercise prescription, advice or use of other modalities such as taping or ultrasound.  Most times a combination of modalities is used.

Step 3: Prevention of recurrence of the injury, where possible.
